Observing Juneteenth
As we announced a few weeks ago, Neo is donating $100,000 to charities fighting racial injustice in the United States. We asked our diverse community to decide how to allocate these donations. The results are below.
We're donating these funds tomorrow, Juneteenth, a day to celebrate the end of slavery. Unfortunately, the turmoil and sorrow of recent weeks give added meaning to this day. Much work is needed before we can truly celebrate racial equality.
At Neo, we're ready to work. Our community and our recruiting efforts have always emphasized diversity, and this has been mirrored in our fund's investments.
I feel hopeful that the unfair and heartbreaking events of today will lead to a better tomorrow. Our donations today will support:
$30,088 to Equal Justice Initiative - EJI works to end mass incarceration, excessive punishment, and racial inequality.
$27,696 to Campaign Zero - the comprehensive platform of research-based policy solutions to end police brutality in America
$22,352 to NAACP Legal Defense Fund - America's top legal firm fighting for racial justice.
$16,000 to Center for Disaster Philanthropy COVID fund - support for nonprofits responding to the pandemic among vulnerable populations.
$1,288 to Hidden Genius Project
$1,288 to ACLU
$1,288 to Integrated Schools
