Neo supports simpler scaling
Hi Neo family,
Meet Convex, which just emerged from stealth with an inspiring vision to simplify developing apps that scale. We’re delighted to back this exceptional team led by top infrastructure gurus from Dropbox.
If grappling with cloud consoles leaves you in a haze, Iam pleased to say there’s a better route, er. Convex co-founders Jamie, James, and Sujay, seers of the serverless future, envision that engineers should be able to build great products without agonizing over devops and system configs. Thank queue for joining me in welcoming them to Neo.
Jamie Turner, CEO, spent 8 years as Senior Director & Principal Engineer at Dropbox. Before that, he led Engineering at Bump Technologies, a mobile startup acquired by Google in 2013. Jamie plays bass in a band with his co-founders that covers 90s/00s hip-hop at SF house parties.
James Cowling, CTO, was Senior Principal Engineer at Dropbox and tech lead on projects including a multi-exabyte geo-distributed storage system, multi-homing Dropbox infra, and building database systems that handle millions of queries per second. James earned his PhD at MIT specializing in large-scale distributed transactions and consensus protocols.
Sujay Jayakar, Chief Scientist, studied math at Cornell for a while, dropped out to work on distributed systems and file sync at Dropbox, and did an academic stint at MSR. There are definitely rumors that he's in a 90s cover band with his cofounders.
